Aman Canal Grande Venice due for June opening
Aman Resorts plans to open the Aman Canal Grande in Venice in time for the beginning of the Venetian Biennale on 1 June.
The dramatic palazzo that houses the 24-suite resort is located in the San Polo district and consists of two five-storey adjoining buildings (one is the 16th-century Palazzo Papadopoli). It features one of the very few private gardens on the canal.
Private motor launches will take guests from the airport or the train station to the hotel. A sweeping staircase then leads up to the dining room – with three rooms which will be serving up Italian and Asian cuisine with views over the Grand Canal and the resort’s garden terrace.
The salon (serving light refreshments), library, stanza del tiepolo (games room) and stanza gialla (ideal for private dining and meetings) can be found on the resort’s fourth level and a lift provides access to the roof terrace.
Many of the suites feature protected frescoes and reliefs that contrast with contemporary furnishings. There are also three signature suites with significant historical features.
Suites at the Aman Canal Grande Venice cost from €1,000 per night (plus tax and service charge).
Aman Canal Grande Venice is Aman Resorts’ fourth Mediterranean luxury resort property following the opening of Aman Sveti Stefan in Montenegro, the Amanruya in Turkey and the Amanzoe in Greece.
